Bobby F. Edmonds, a student of local history, has spent his life recording local history, combing through records in court houses, archives, and private collections, searching in graveyards, reading microfilm and volumes of books, collecting historic photographs, and photographing historic sites. Edmonds was born in a two-room cabin on the family farm, “Cedar Hill” in McCormick County, South Carolina, during the Great Depression to fifth generation South Carolinian parents. In addition to being a recognized local historian, he is also a photographer of excellence. He has published articles in several weekly and daily newspapers for a half century and has served on numerous local and state historical boards and commissions.
