Edmonds was born in a two-room cabin on the family farm, “Cedar Hill” in McCormick County, South Carolina, during the Great Depression to fifth generation South Carolinian parents. In addition to being a recognized local historian, he is also a photographer of excellence. He has published articles in several weekly and daily newspapers for a half century and has served on numerous local and state historical boards and commissions.
