Our Pastor

On Sunday, August 24^th Reverend James F. Kinsler preached his first sermon as the new pastor of Lutheran Church by the Lake.  Pastor Kinsler comes to Savannah Lakes Village after serving as pastor at First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, W. Virginia,. since 1985.  Prior to that, he was pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree, South Carolina for four years.  Pastor Kinsler is a graduate of Newberry College and received his Master of Divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
 
Pastor Kinsler and his wife Martha  reside in Savannah Lakes Village in the Shenandoah subdivision.  They are parents of three daughters and have two grandsons.   Martha, is a chemistry and math teacher in Abbeville, SC. 

In speaking of the foundations of his faith Pastor Kinsler says “I want to love, laugh, and live to the glory of the Lord.  My core convictions are based on the Great Commandment to love the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love my neighbor as myself.”  

THOUGHTS FROM PASTOR JIM:

Each Sunday this summer, from Memorial Day Weekend, May 27, through Labor Day Weekend, September 2, Lutheran Church by the Lake will hold a lake side worship experience at the Savannah Lakes Marina Beach.  The service will begin at 9:15 am.  You can come by boat or car.  Bring a lawn chair and expectant spirit as we celebrate the beauty of God's creation and the wonder of God's love.
